Umm, yeah? It's not my fucking responsibility to pay for them.
In my 20-year professional career, I've never seen a woman come back to the office after their "maternity leave," except one time. And that one time, she had another kid about a year later and quit after that maternity leave.
The whole point of "maternity leave" was to preserve the careers of the people who took it. There should be claw-back provisions for people who abuse it.

I don't live in NZ, so of course I will.
I just hope it doesn't propagate across the world like every other gendered fuck up law they ever created.
Happy "equal pay day" - something that we never had to deal with outside of feminist propaganda articles before fucking NZ made it a real thing.
Let's hope this sensible law is enacted elsewhere as well.

If a baby is just a clump of cells, then a miscarriage isn't a problem. You can't have it both ways.
