Turns out soy really is poison.

From what I can gather, the study only tested soy oil, reduces linoleic soy oil, and coconut oil. It'd be interesting to see what affect other oils have, even equivalent amounts of concentrated lard. Also how concentrated is is in the mouse's diet, versus what the average person consumes, including those that eat the whole bean. Soy oil is the worst tasting oil anyway, though soy is heavily grown (mostly as animal feed in North America), so they're going to find a use for it.
This. Everything is poison in sufficiently high quantities, including water (osmosis causes the brain cells to swell, increasing intracranial pressure) and oxygen (produces peroxides and free radicals that cause celluar damage).
Yeah, anyone who says something has a lethal dosage amount, I remind them that water has an LD50 that has been scientifically documents, and Reese Cups have an LD50 that is scientifically backed (it's surprisingly close to 1kg/kg, for what it's worth, so eating your own body weight in reese cups in a single sitting and short period of time would kill about 50% of the adult population who did so successfully). That doesn't mean eating a peanut butter cup is going to kill you, even if you wash it down with a glass of water.
