They REALLY don't want to go back to work.
Endless paid vacation is just too damn nice and "racism" is a powerful tool to keep the gravy train rolling.
I don't want them to go back to work either, because their work is teaching kids to mutilate their genitals and hate themselves for their race.
I feel like I've heard this sentiment before, though I can't find it.
The other CA incident (last week) linked in the article, "Entire California District’s School Board Resigns After Mocking Parents During Virtual Meeting", I'm pretty sure was covered here.
Sounds like what the children are always prone to saying. Remember whining about school being like "prison" when you were 10?
Basically, we're being run by kids who never grew up, a generation or two of Peter Pans. That's got to be why literally everything is based on comic books now.
I'm sure the children can't wait to go back and have breathing fresh air held over their heads as a "reward" for good behavior.
I work remotely but I've gone into work a few times. Us adults have it easy - I often drink coffee and tea, so I have large stretches where I take the mask off. There's barely anyone in the same building, never mind the floor. I can schedule meetings in unoccupied offices, where pretense of a mask isn't even required.
Kids, in comparison, are completely fucked. They have to do this every day in high-occupancy rooms, have to beg for breaks, and nobody mentions this, but their ears are probably hurting a lot from the bands too. All for some sub-par level of education.
Edit: Some of us adults. For now.
Something I've noticed at work is that resentment is starting to set in for the people who have to go into the office all the time against people who mostly work from home. The former feel like they're getting a raw deal and are being somewhat taken advantage of by the latter.
I don't think these companies really understand the dynamics they're playing with in effectively segregating employees in terms of whether or not they're allowed to do their job from home. I'll admit I didn't either, as a long-time advocate of work from home.
I can understand the resentment. It's natural. I've always been pro-WFH even prior to the pandemic since commuting sucks, but it's a shit experience to have to wear the mask.
I think some companies will relax commuting requirements after this is said and done, both out of pragmatism and cost savings by reducing the office space. Many, though, will never have that benefit due to employer paranoia or logistics of the job.
I’ve started to notice it as well granted one of the guys willfully wanted to stay in the office but I can hear the jealousy in his voice when I’m WFH for the afternoon after coming in for project I can’t WFH for
