Getting publicly outraged is an easy way to score points for leftists. It's PR and career advancement. It's a very low-risk strategy, since even if they fall for a hoax, their side is selectively blind and your side's tweets get suppressed.
Furthermore, the left values loyalty and unity of opinion, far more than factual and level-headed discourse. So in most cases it's better to shoot first and cover your ass later.
I've heard it put as 'the left's violence is speech, the right's speech is violence'. Just another maddening aspect among hundreds more of the Clown World we live in.
The really maddening aspect is conservatives just sit back and take it like a battered wife. There's no excuse for why they've let the discourse shift so badly against them.
Because if we have to do it, If we have to get up and acknowledge the abuse, it doesn't end in divorce like a marriage. The police aren't going to take the abuser away and we don't get to start a happy new life in a new state. That leaves very few options left after we decide we aren't gonna take the abuse any longer.

Of course there is.
Republican's actions and speech fits perfectly into the role of the heel.
They'll talk mad shit all day when it's relevant for attention, and then when nuts comes to butts they go full jabroni.
This way you think you have some form of representation but in reality they're meeting with "the enemy" in the locker room before the show rehearsing the script.

So,
It's ok for Mad Maxine to peddle hate and promote violence.
Yet when you take her statement, her own words, to retweet substituting "Trump" for "Cuomo" or "Biden" and it's all of a sudden "hate speech"?
Pure, unadulterated, double standards and out and out hypocrisy.
The left make me sick.
If there's going to be two different standards we may as well cut to the chase and form two separate countries.
Count me in.
As long as I can be in charge of the department of war.

Sure, but the response is long overdue at this point. Sustained endurance of the abuse is just admitting defeat.
Of course there is.
