Remember Godwin's Law?
Back in the 90's and 2000's, you were almost guaranteed to be mocked the second you compared something to Hitler or the Nazis. It was a way to almost instantly lose an argument.
Then in 2012, Godwin's Law was added to the Oxford English dictionary, at practically the exact same moment everyone forgot about it.
Apart from anything else: this is Microsoft. They're a single update away from bringing a new root DNS server into existence for the majority of PCs on the planet, one that plays by the rules they set.
If it wasn’t for games and one program that I need for work I’d wipe my computer completely and just switch to a Linux distro. But I have downloaded a few for when Microsoft does start tracking more of my computer use on an os level. Sure the Linux foundation added a bs code of conduct, but luckily we can always fork stuff under their licensing.
Based on the buzzwords, identity politics and general ramblings I bet this wasn't the sole cause. They were probably tired of his bullshit before that.
I know one guy who works on Halo who's been hounding his boss to try to get a guy sacked for supporting the Trump supporters who marched on the capitol. The rot is everywhere, I wouldn't expect Microsoft to do anything other than eventually capitulate to this nonsense.
Doesn’t surprise me at all. For some reason these people have been attracted to the video game industry, and they have infected HR, and are now branching out.
Also, the evidence the "victim" provided is clearly unusable. Even if an actual Nazi (I doubt it) was confirmed present after the fact, it wouldn't be possible to know during the event.
I find it hard to believe that they were fired for that alone.
Either they were already looking for an excuse to get rid of them, or this person went full on leftist psycho freakout when called into the office.
They've spent the better part of a century creating the ultimate tale of extreme badness, do you think they are not going to get their monies worth?

Reading this makes me glad that their contributions to progressivism extend solely to virtue signaling and selling God-awful "pride" Surface cases.

Oh definitely. They were probably hoping he'd make a big misstep for a while.

I like how he basically says “y’all are nazis” in his exit message.

I'd like to see them try just to see where it goes. Big tech fighting other big tech.
Albeit, probably they'd just agree to rehire the guy and make him Vice-CEO of diversity relations or something to appease the masses.
