Pretty much. It turns out the government explained it all in the very proposal that were being questioned in Parliament by that Hillier guy (the one who asked questions in the viral video). It's literally a place to put all the travellers stuck in quarantine so that the hotels in Toronto can have their buildings back.
By the by, Hillier was totally right to push them for clarity. The way the proposal was written was vague and left a lot open to interpretation.
I am reporting from DC. I need to go home soon, but Trudeau has set up impossible COVID testing requirements for return to Canada. @AirCanada says speak to embassy. Last time I was there, Liberal staffers had me banned as an unapproved reporter. I need to go home. Trudeau says no
How exactly is a 72 hours old test reflective of your current status?
How is this helping at all when there is widespread transmission in most states of the Canadian confederacy and infected patients are not in quarantine?
It's so fucking stupid.
You could have been infected recently when tested, have a negligible viral load and still test negative 72 hoirs ago but be extremely contagious now.
You can get infected while transiting after your test.
No wonder all Western countries let every remotely infectious virus get in.
Blessed we are this virus has a survival ratenof 99.8%, because the people making policies are incompetent buffons who will do every single mistake possible with every pandemic.
Member when the morrons thought it was a good idea to fly ebola virus patients to the US and predictably, local transmission happened ( a nurse )?
They did it with WuFlu too. And will do it again the next time.
So that's what those facilities were for. Conspiracy theories about them debunked?

Why couldn't they just administer a test in Canada after the person has arrived rather than making them wait 14 days?
