It's a day old and already posted on relevant sites, but it's probably good to post here in case some haven't seen it:

Key points:
- Game was never planned for Sony
- Xbox version was cancelled at the last moment
- Reason was censorship
None of this surprises me nor, I imagine, most if not all of you, but it does run counter-narrative to some insane comments that I had seen before about how Microsoft would bizarrely turn a new leaf in order to court the Japanese market.
Also, I've never played Gal*Gun before but have had Gal*Gun 2 installed for over 2 years now. I'll probably give it a try in the mid future.
I have to be honest, I'm kind of glad MS aren't taking this kind of shovelware.
Microsoft will accept any bag of shit to inflate their Game Pass library:
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass/games
Just not titles that don't satisfy their feminist urges.
/r/KIA2 mentioned that this topic came up on /r/Games, and it's the same hyperbole and inane "pedophilia" defense that I've come to expect from centrists and progressives.
Apparently, there were 2 reports submitted to the Danish Ministry of Justice regarding 'pornographic pictures of children' or PBB, one in 2010 and one in 2017. Both reports cite various studies that show no evidence of PBB leading to 'contact-assault' on children. And when it comes to fictional PBB, this is what the reports concluded:
Gears 5 and Among Us are shit, but I wouldn't agree that they are shovelware.
I just remember what happened when Steam accepted porn games, most of New Releases was terrible hentai puzzle games.
This entire thread is irrelevant, but Neoverse is literally the 2nd game displayed to me when I open that page. And that's only the 1st page.
If you're going to call Gal*Gun shovelware, you'll have a hard time convincing me that Neoverse doesn't fit...and I actually don't mind the card game (though it's probably only worth $1-2 max IMO).
I remember Steam's phase but having dealt with actual shovelware shit (ex: Fight Angel) there and on the Switch, I won't complain about choice, ideally with decent search filters, tagging, etc.
Weird, for me the first 4 are Forza Motorsport 7, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5 and Among Us. Is it because I'm logged in?
Maybe. I opened the site without any cookies and it defaulted to zero filters enabled and Newest for sort order.
Trust me, gatekeeping for quality is not in Microsoft's MO. They want GaaS (gaming as a service) to succeed, and with Game Pass being a strong contender currently, the largest library possible.
Curation for 'quality' seems to be Epic's thing, not Microsoft's.
I wonder how that will go down. Every time I say something nice about them everyone hates me.
I don't disagree, but so far there hasn't been such absolute junk as there is on Steam on the Microsoft Store. We haven't got Unity asset flips and stupid jigsaw puzzle games with stolen art yet. Those only make it to the W10 store.
Er. I don't think he was praising Epic. It was a backhanded jab at their restrictions.
As Eltrion said, and you know since I laid it on pretty thick, it was a back-handed comment since I prefer consumer choice but it's also true.
People get too vitriolic about Epic and vice-versa. They're a scummy company but it's undeniable that Epic has some positives. If you want a curated storefront, they deliver in that regard. If you want free games but are too cowardly to pirate, then it's on the table for now.
Steam's monopoly is not a good thing as a consumer. It's just that non-mainstream competition is required since Valve, Microsoft, Epic, etc., share the same regressive ideologies among some if not most of their employee base.
The games aren't even that bad tbh.
It's less about the game itself and more about what the result of allowing it would be.
Which would be?
You don't like it because of your irrational hatred of all things female.
citation very much fucking needed
No, I already said. Allowing porn games on Steam resulted in a deluge of absolute shit puzzle games with stolen hentai art.
You can live without porn on Xbox. Use a PC.

Yes, it's censorship to avoid allowing 20 tons of absolute fertilizer onto your console.
Being available on the store != being on your console. Don't buy it if you don't like it.
Game X should not be allowed to release because doing so would lead to Potential Undesirable Consequence Y.
