Thank you, unfortunately after much tinkering, it appears to just be a forced/required one. Bummed because I could have bought it from Amazon and saved $10, but I bought it elsewhere so I could just play it immediately lol
So this random chick filled in the madlibs on a video game generator called Twine(it is marketed as requiring no programming) and pretended she wrote Roller Coaster Tycoon. Her railroaded choose-your-own-adventure-game Depression Quest got a suspicious amount of press for a not-game. Her boyfriend made a post about her sleeping around with Five Guys and Fries, including a games urinalist who wrote the first fluff piece for her. One day, every gaming news outlet simultaneously dropped articles entitled 'Gamers Are Dead'. And, that is how we found ourselves in a culture war with a communist conspiracy of satanic pedophiles that rule the world.
I have tried, unfortunately no go. It is a massive patch like 45 GB lol. Everywhere online seems to indicate its a forced update too. Bummed, really wanted to play today!
That's what I am playing on, and so far even after the big patch its still really buggy.
Sometimes text will just randomly disappear when highlighted, so when in conversations with people, you have to deselect an option to see what it is. Which is annoying if its a timed response
My game has already crashed just walking to the homebase, nothing crazy going on.
People constantly disappear. I was in a firefight with 4-5 guys in a gulley/gulch place, and they just poofed away
People/objects are sometimes randomly in weird areas, in walls, floating, etc.
Often pulling up the menu/inventory/etc it takes a long time to load
HUD colors randomly change, so it becomes confusing. Mission alerts for example were orange for me, then after coming out of a pause, everything was red, and it wouldn't change back until I restarted.
Also the menu seems to be only designed for mouse keyboard, and its really annoying navigating using the playstation controller.
Overall not happy about it at all, the game is also dead feeling. Almost no one can be interacted with in a meaningful way. And the worlds NPCs are highly scripted. I have already heard many backalley conversations multiple times and I have only played 5 hours.
It's too restrictive too because everything is blocked off. It's basically GTA3 with good graphics, and fallout 4 perk/level elements.
I think if you have a PC that can play it, getting it on PC would be good considering the future mods that could be made.
That’s hilarious, so they probably tried to make it work for both, but failed to make either any good lol.
It’s a hot mess as it pertains to consoles. They have you constantly using the right analog stick to move and select instead of the d-pad. They did try to make the d-pad override movement but it doesn’t work in all menus and when it does doesn’t even work all the time, and it has this huge square cursor that obscures selections which moves with each selection change instead of just highlighting like it should.
It also feels extremely linear, and like they put no work into introducing you to side quests. You just get bombarded with jobs as you drive around.
At least in Witcher 3 there were whole conversations that lead you into side quests, here random dudes cold-call you or quests just automatically appear.
And theres very little actual explanation of how mechanics like hacking actually work aside from how to do it, I honestly feel extremely lost with figuring out how to use it in a way that works with my play style.
Great point. I feel the same about side quests. I looked at my map and I already have like 50 or 100 on the map and I have no idea where or how I even got them and have no connection to them and dont even care to do them lol.
I have done a couple, but it’s so boring. One mission was make all the people hanging around some vending machines dead and take their shit. And another was make all the people hanging around some electronic billboards dead and take their shit. Don’t forget the one police mission I had which was make all the people hanging out under a bridge dead and “secure the evidence” which really mean, take their shit.
Do a play through of Deus ex while you wait.
Depends, if you're on steam you can't block it from auto-updating. You could try exiting steam and retrying to download, maybe that'll fix it.

Yes.
Nice! I will definitely be using this site as often as TD then. I figured it was just about news about gaming journos, or something.

We cover anything vaguely related to the above.
The original site was about anti-SJW infiltration in gaming media, and fixing gaming journalism from being so shit.
They only got worse. Whatever victories we did gain, were simply covered over with worse violations.
We now represent an anti-SJW and anti-establishment section of nerd culture.
I don't have the game but have you tried going to the game's folder and running the exe?
Just cancel it and try to open the game. You'll be kicked offline, but it might work, if it's not 90% of the game in that patch.

I'm on pc and feel like the menu is optimised for console

It’s fucking gay.
