tl;dr Alberta tests more than anyone (almost 2x BC) but is at the lower end in mortality rate, lower than those provinces that have had more restrictions & stricter lockdowns in place
This is a test run for a future where people will be restricted from traveling and living normal lives because of "climate change". The elimination of inefficient small business is part of it as well.
It will be accomplished by at least 2 ways. By restrictions on CO2 emission and by price increases. Grandparents won't be able to afford the 5x higher plane ticket and gasoline prices to visit family any more.
An acquaintance of mine who moved up to Edmonton to attend university (and is now kinda stuck up there even though the classes are remote learning) was supposed to visit friends in Calgary. Now:
Out-of-town visitors cannot stay in other people's homes while these restrictions are in place, regardless of where they are coming from.
Under threat of a $1,000 fine, which a college girl can't really afford.
If my grandfather and mother weren't both in their urns on the mantel, I'd be able to solve the energy crisis from their spinning. How far their home province has fallen
The grandmother is also with them, but she's a boat person from a commie hellhole, so I imagine she'd still parade her "Canadian government can do no wrong" in order to pacify the other two. I get the sense that anything was better than where she came from

The number of people I hear whining about the number of cases going up, like every one of them is on their deathbed, is starting to really annoy me.

Fear porn at its finest
So Canadians, ready to get in the Christmas spirit with some “peaceful protesting”?
My friend was supposed to go to Alberta to visit his brother in a week. He is pissed.

Cultural revolution
Oh, I forgot to mention the man who made these rules campaigned on the motto "STRONG AND FREE" which is our province's motto- fortis et liber
