Now I’m only on Book 12 but the more I read about the show the more I’m content to just finish the book series and let that be it. They are summarizing it as a book about Moraine. Now she is an important character but it’s about Rand. Also the show runner took questions and one “fan” asked about lgbt representation and he said he will make sure to have that because it’s important.
An annoyance of mine in nerd culture are people who have to see themselves represented in everything. In my opinion they aren’t real fans. A well written character can appeal to all types of people. I’m a black male and since childhood my two favorite comic book characters have been Spider-Man and Superman. I like them because they are idealistic and try to see the good in everyone which is something I strive for.
I’ll say it again people who have to be represented or see themselves in everything aren’t real fans and some people make up a small percentage of the population so it’s very unrealistic to be represented in everything.
Yes, everything I've heard about the writing for this show is that they completely misunderstand the gender dynamic presented in Wheel of Time, and instead intend to impose their own intersectional gender dynamic. Frankly Robert Jordan's wife should be ashamed of herself for allowing this violence to be done to her late husband's work.
Second (no) time this has happened.
