I think what's most disturbing, having seen the combination of these covid lockdowns, the justification of riots and domestic terrorism, and the deliberate persecution of anyone that would stand against them, is that I have been convinced that the leftists are right. I may blame them for having mutilated my nation into what it is today, but still I am convinced that it is no longer the land of rights and opportunity that I once believed in. I still understand that the US remains a country with more prosperity and freedoms than most, but I see the greatness being whittled down little by little.
Then again, it's somewhat fitting that this guy's story begins with the Iraq war, following 9/11; since, the republican party under Bush worked with democrats to expand government authority and trample the constitution. Although, I guess it shouldn't be surprising that someone speaking at a republican event wouldn't bring up how so many republicans were just RINOs.
Perhaps the only thing that separates me from the leftist mentality at this point is recognition that there are choices, beliefs, and ideals that are better than others by objective measurement.
They aren't Bush assets. The Bushes, Clintons, Obamas, McCains, etc. are assets of the same group of Progressive Era bank and tycoon families that have been running the US establishment since the 1890's.
