With the whole CHAZ/CHOP thing in Seattle, cold hard reality came when these rich kids had their neighborhood dealers drive over to sell them their drugs. This did not go over well as they were on someone else's turf, and the shootings began.
Because what you gonna do when full on mayhem breaks out? Call the police you just ran off ? :D Or hide in a corner and smoke your weed? ;P
The same stupid mistakes, and WORSE can happen in war. Can't put the cell phone down, no problem. There are drones that home in on cell phones AND voice prints, even if your phone is using some level of encryption. The hajjis learned this the hard way, time and time again over the last generation.
Even the rare people with actual combat experience on Reddit, the few dozen they haven't run off, those guys are used to a logistics chain second to none. Not a lot of em are used to the idea of pulling supplies off dead russians, looting the dead in general to see if they have supplies they need, and adapting to an environment that seems to go from bad to worse day to day.
Not many on Reddit, or the internet in general used to helping launch some kind of insurgent warfare, or holding out against long odds in warfare. Unless they're working for a three letter agency on counter-terrorism or similar shit. And those guys certainly aren't dumb enough to willingly go back into a warzone with poor odds again. lol!
Yeah, but.. A lot of Europe was jammed up then. You've got a certain generation of people in France and other nations who were known Nazi collaborators. Where they drew the line was kind of dubious at times.
Are you forced by circumstance into your job, or are you an active participant doing war crimes with a kind of zeal that just screams, oh yeah, you're guilty as all hell.
France was maybe a bit TOO understanding as in their own history they had a century of "The Terror" where anyone who potentially did something against the people could be called out, and taken to the guillotine. Much in the same tone as cancel culture today, but, lethal..
So, they could not afford to be prosecuting every offense against god, man, common decency, or they'd effectively be scrutinizing every little thing people did to survive for the next century.. And possibly their descendants for however many generations.
Plus, you go back far enough, everyone has ancestors which did crazy shit. For the times maybe just distasteful, or maybe with good intent, but benefiting people who were at one time a pox on mankind, but who redeemed themselves, at least a little over the centuries. Like this guy..

At some point, you have to let old conflicts go. At least at some official levels of doing business. For petty acts of poor customer service.. Oh well. But as a buffer state, and something to used in a proxy war, they're certainly useful. Send them all the weapons the US has been stockpiling, but never had a use for. Hey, the guidance clusters in those Javelins have a half life of 6 years before they need re-calibration. Use em up, or spend over $4k a unit just so you can keep them on a shelf doing nothing another 6 years. ;P
