I think there's some lying involved here. I think the lying is actually systemic and all Western countries are lying about the numbers or there's something else going on here that isn't obviously apparent.

Supposedly, Canada's GDP Per Capita PPP Adjusted went from $50,499 in 2019 to $48,591 in 2020. This is explained by COVID and up until this point, the numbers seem to align with expectations (or at least they were consistent long enough without discrepancies to indicate any falsification).

Somehow Canada's GDP Per Capita PPP Adjusted went from $48,591 in 2020 to $63,525 in 2023 a growth of 30.73% in 3 years? That's after shutdowns, the most debt ever taken on as a percentage of GDP by any first world nation and that debt was given to people to sit at home and do nothing.

From 2008 to 2020, Canada's GDP Per Capita PPP Adjusted went from $40,376 to $48,591, a growth of 20% over 12 years but I'm expected to believe Canada grew post covid by 30% over 3 years? Yes, I'm taking data from peaks and lows but even averaged out they don't make sense.

All Western countries supposedly saw something very similar and are all now reporting incredible economies post covid when hardly any of them were showing good growth up until COVID.

During COVID, the lack of growth over the last decade was promoted to people as proof that DEI and leftist values of the 2010s era was hampering development. However, all of a sudden all Western economies are showing phenomenal economic strength that just wasn't there before.

Something is going on here, imo. I think governments and international organization are straight up lying in order to hide how poorly these leftist values truly were.

After COVID in Canada everyone's salary stayed the same but costs went way up. No one is better off as far as I know and a lot of people are worse off but somehow our economy is 30% better. I don't believe it. SOUND THE ALARM

Furthermore, there's more lying going on. The GINI coefficient measures income/wealth inequality with high values being more unequal. Supposedly Canada's inequality was 0.317 in 2019 and in 2022 (2023 wasn't available) it was 0.300 showing inequality reduced yet we all know during COVID small businesses got completely hammered and forced to shutdown while mega corps like Amazon and other large businesses were able to stay open and made all the money.

So, not only am I supposed to believe our economy grew 30% over 3 years but it was dispersed in a more equal manner bringing inequality down?

The international organizations and governments are straight up lying about their macroeconomic numbers. Nothing seems to properly align. There was nothing in the last few years that warrants such growth for Canada or the USA or Europe. Interest rates are higher and debt is drying up...

The only potential argument I can maybe get behind is some sort of economies of scale where because all the mom and pop shops closed down and got gobbled up by the big corps, they were able to be more productive BUT Canada's labor productivity was $56.6 in 2012 dollars in 2019 and $57.60 in 2022 which seems immaterial of a change. 2023 numbers unavailable.

Canada's population also grew from 37.6m in 2019 to 40.1m in 2023 and our economy per capita grew 30% adjusted to purchasing power? There's no fucking way.

The numbers are a lie.
