I both do and don't have a problem with the athlete or celeb thing.
They're allowed their opinion, of course, but if all the content they're putting out is "Stand with me against hate" ... that's not even an argument. That's an ad hominem dressed up as an argument from authority.
Sports dude here actually made some points. It's a refreshing change.
There's a bit of cheerleading going on there as well, but he made substantive points that could actually lead to a discussion:
- The DNC taking Latino votes for granted;
- Congruence between DNC policies and those of failed or failing South American states;
- Trump's generally positive economic record
