Nah china's techs are all stolen/copied, the environment is not conducive to innovation or creative work, just because they're not directly under control of the west doesn't mean they're actually any good. Their tech industry is just the tech-unsavy senior ccp officials reading the news about the next new doodad west made and give orders that China must also have, the companies all rush to find something that fits the description but barely usable in the open source repositories/outdated tech and bullshit about the performance to get government subsidies. After couple of years the subsidies run dry and the projects get memory holed after the senior officials got their promotions/kickbacks and the companies got their money
