I'm not questioning you and I've got no experience with the contemporary dating scene. But you made me wonder something. If you're living somewhere like that, does the "spring break" style debauchery become enough of the local culture that locals just accept it as normal while they're growing up and get shaped by it?

Could your personal experience be mostly a result of the locale? At the very least, you're going to see more literal whores in high tourism areas. Supply and demand.
