It is all moral posturing. The game devs all see themselves as the Anointed, morally righteous paragons of absolute virtue who Mean Well™, and have the purest of intentions.

This is why they cast moral aspersions at all who disagree, and why our refusal to bend the knee to their moral posturing, and our mockery, infuriates them so.

I would like to see opposition to what they do shift to attacking their morally righteous attitude directly, because they will not stop until a) the rest of society sees them for the moral busybodies they are (like the religious right in the 1980s was, and still is), and b) game developer companies fire them for being the toxic moral scolds they are.
