Welcome to the biggest rug pull/scam in history:

1. Target regular car drivers with fines/extra charges under the guise of 'going green' and saying these won't apply if you get an electric vehicle

2. Electric cars haven't got the same mileage as regular vehicles as battery technology is not developed enough and especially with electric trucks and Chinese knockoffs, they are unreliable in slight conditions to downright deadly in an accident.

3. NOT use any of that money through extra taxes to develop and reinforce the power infrastructure to handle all of these electric cars.

4. Tax them anyway years down the line as they use the roads and you need to pay for maintenance and they 'abuse' the energy infrastructure..

It's another example of governments in the West unable to make coherent long term planning due to greed and incompetence.
