The farthest I got is the main character's dad is drunk and abusive and she hates him but not as much as she hates her mom for staying with him through the abuse. Main character girl vows to never put up with anything like that. Her and her older sister were close until the older sister left to be married (speculation on a "plot twist, the older sister died of DV and that's why you never see her face).

That's like, the first 15min of the game. I'm not hopeful for a plot twist that subverts all that and makes it based.
