Pretending that National Socialism and Communism are two sides of the same coin is a bit disingenuous don't you think?

If it were pretending, sure, it would be disingenuous, by definition of course it would be. But it's not pretending. All the western lefty socialists before the commies got their marching orders from the USSR were full of praise for hitler and mussolini, who got all their ideas from their earlier 'pure' socialism, and they largely hoped to seize the same power he did and do similar things (and in america in particular did, FDR had some of em in his admin, controlling big bits of the new deal)

The US and Britain are almost single-handedly responsible for unleashing Communism around the world.

Let's not let Russia, France and Germany off the hook quite so quickly, they've each got an awful lot to answer for.

They have similarities, sure, most political ideologies do. But that's about it. They're fundamentally different.

In what ways? Bonus points if it's not something that marx, mao, mussolini, stalin or che and castro didn't do/advocate for also.

It's the bare minimum that no one else did. The western world actually pushed the degeneracy on the rest of the world despite being 'anti-Communist' and 'Christian'.
