Definitely coming to Ireland too, possibly sooner than the UK. Ireland made a big deal about wanting to introduce police bodycams a year or two back - but the talking heads made sure to emphasise that it would need to be implemented alongside a facial recognition system. Of course, to link it to such a system would require the creation of that system in the first place, since such a database doesn't currently exist.

The first phase of a proof of concept for Body Worn Cameras (BWC) for An Garda Síochána and the supporting Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) is taking place in Dublin City Centre and Limerick.
