One of the earliest examples of screeching feminist cancel culture that I remember has to be the "Open Source Boob Project"

Some guy and a few of his friends attended a con (I don't remember what the con was about) and asked a girl if they could touch her tits. She was an acquaintance a few degrees removed from them, and her boyfriend was in the area and seemed ok with it (lol, but his cuckery is not the point). They liked it, she liked it, and then another girl nearby seemed into it and invited them to grope her too, so they all came up with some scheme to advocate not only for making public breast groping acceptable, but for women to wear pins to opt-in to being asked* for this groping.

Basically, teenager and early-20s shit.

And this guy got absolutely ass-reamed by the feminist mob for it. This opt-in pin that a woman can choose to wear for attention and free massages turned into something out of a caricature of a snuff film where all men would pin down and rape all women at every step she takes at a con.

And of course virtue signaling men backing up the hysterical screeds, trying to earn good boy points for a crumb of pussy.

This was 2007, and the only thing different about this compared to today is that nobody SWATted him. I was curious enough to search if theferrett is still around, and he still is, writing books. And his website is still doing penance for daring to be a straight man with hormones, virtue signaling about "I’ve spent up to twenty years writing essays trying to undo the harm I unleashed on the world." which I guess explains why he's still allowed a career.

* Edit: reviewing, wearing the green pin only made it to indicate she was okay with being asked to have her boobs fondled: even then she still had the right to say no, presumably to anyone who isn't an 8/10 or above.
