Its also strange as an appalachian, who has only known anxiety and depression, to read about people who claim anxiety is keeping them from doing whatever. I was taught as a toddler that even if your anxious you cant let it stop you from doing what you want to do. I watched my mom die slowly from aids, grew up dirt poor, flunked out of college, ended up even broker than dirt poor. Despite all that, I dont really worry about the future and most of my depression stems from the fact ive been suffering from hyper para thyroidism for at least 5 years now since I was forced to live with that insane blood pressure. I caught it around 200/160 a few times during the night when I would actually experience the irregular heart rhythms, mainly while sleeping.
