Nothing happened, it's always been like that. /r/stupidpol's mods are all either orthodox Marxists (the kind who actually believe that all answers to all problems can be found in "theory"), or exiled liberals who can't come to terms with their political foundations being broken. They're not actually opposed to idpol, they're just opposed to being on the outside, and idpol was the weapon used against them. They've allowed a wide range of political positions in their subreddit because it's the only way they could actually populate the sub (and therefore fulfil the leftist janny impulse), but they'll never let it get too far away from them for fear of losing control. Humiliation, random bannings, and comment filters are how they achieve that.
