"If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost the war" shows how horrifically centralized the power of media was, and how dangerous it had become. People mistakenly see it as the power of good journalism, but it's really a lamentation that even LBJ lost control of the media, because it had made it's own agenda, and had become more powerful than the state.

Now these same intrepid journalists tell conservatives to send their children to die in foreign wars, then sell pictures of their dead kids back to them, and laugh at them on Twitter for being stupid, inbred, war-mongering, racist, retards who deserve to watch their kids die and be replaced... for being dumb enough to believe them.

Then they screech that they're losing power over those very same people.

It's not so much that government control over the media has been lost (it hasn't been, it's just been weakened). It's that we can hear the journalists talking when the cameras aren't on, and they are some of the most evil, demonic, caricatures of humans that the world has ever seen.
