I tried posting this on old reddit kia, and it keeps getting removed:

Why would it surprise anyone, when the director of the game listed themselves as a "Queerosexual Gendermancer", had all the usual "support flags" of that which shall not be named in their Twitter profile (which was then removed/hidden), and describes the Dragon Age franchise as:

“As a [that-which-shall-not-be-named] I have a perspective on the games that not everyone has. Dragon Age has long been a place where [that-which-shall-not-be-named] folks can see people like themselves, represented respectfully. It’s inherently very queer, and it’s such a rare thing for marginalized communities to have representation where we feel proud and powerful in how we are depicted.”

Do people honestly not think this sort of person being in charge might cause the game to be used as a platform for pushing a particular brand of politics front and center?

Seriously - there's no mystery here. These sorts of activists use whatever they have control of to push their politics.

I have scrubbed everything out of it that mentions "trans", and there are now literally zero mentions of the word-that-shall-not-be-named in there, but it is still verboten to point out why the game is like it is.

It so tiresome to see how effectively and completely these people have seized control of the debate, and have made it impossible to criticize them, or do anything that would give uninformed masses in the middle a reason to question what is going on.
