Most estimates put the entire total population of the Roman empire at just over 70 million. If over 90% of them were jews, and the other 10% managed to kill off the 90, frankly at that point I would say that's on the 90 for being so fucking terrible at defending themselves. If you lose a nine to one fight, it was your time. (And I'm pretty sure the Israelites in the Bible actually did lose some 9 to 1 fights because they were being sinful and God was bringing them low. It was literally their time.)
