I would like to say that we are still operating under MAD where no one will set off nukes because of the consequences, as long as we don’t push them to it. That, essentially, we are still living in Cold War logic where we can fight through proxies and sanctions and eventually topple one regime or the other, as long as we don’t openly march on Beijing or Moscow and threaten a nuclear regime with violent annihilation in such a way that if Russia or China might say “fuck it, our country is destroyed anyway.”

The problem is, our government is increasingly run by diversity hires and spiteful mutants, who, because they are too dumb, or too arrogant, or too incompetent, or too evil, cannot understand the risks of getting nuked. Think about people who are as hawkish as Hillary Clinton or as dumb as Eric Swallwell, and know it only gets worse.

South Africa dismantled their nukes before the end of Apartheid, because they didn’t trust a black-run state with them. Under the current “diversity” rules, it is almost inevitable that we will eventually find out if their fear was well-founded.
