I think is more of a culture thing, they see it as a threat to their culture that they still holds value. It does not hurt that they can trace their history back thousands of years. But make no mistake, EU is designed so that the plebs don't matter and they are full on anti-white, pro-immigration globalists. It is legal to discriminate against Europeans under EU law. And europeans are just as afraid as Americans to be called racists, they will bow their heads and accept immigration against their will rather then be called that.
