I have no idea where you get the confidence that the UK won't fall in line, especially since the UK is a good contender fof the most leftist-authoritarian country in Europe right now.

It's mixed from what I'm hearing, the UK is the country that ended lockdowns earlier than the rest that implemented because the public just went 'not doing this shit anymore' after all the mps partying during it came out. Ever since the UK establishment has lost more and more authority that they are holding onto power by their fingertips as shown by the amount of PMs they've had or that the police are so weak they have to do show of force on mean tweets because they can't handle serious crime.

If they try a lockdown, they'd lose the last grip of power they had. There's no way to enforce it anymore and people would simply ignore them which is actually worse than just an open revolt if the population at large doesn't recognise your authority.
