Being from Aus, I don't have a horse in this race (I happen to like both Trump and DeSantis for different reasons).

But the title of this post is pure bullshit and the OP is being a disingenuous cunt.

There is nothing "breaking" about this - the laws came into effect back in May.

Nothing was walked back. This was in the original bill signed into law.

It already allowed people from the affected countries (not just China btw) to buy a single residential property if they have a VISA permitting them to work or study in the US, as long as it wasn't within 5 miles of a military base.

The laws still prohibit the sale of property located within 10 miles of military bases and other critical infrastructure – seaports, airports, power plants and water treatment facilities – to anyone with interests tied to the Chinese government or other foreign countries of concern.
