I agree.

I would say that on the 1-10 scale despite the true average should be 5 most people actually wind up around a 7. Effort in personal health such as eating and exercise will bump people’s appearance. Wearing clothes that flatter your body type will bump people up. Confidence, attitude and personality will bump people up. And the most important factor which you as an individual have no control over, the preferences of a potential suitor. Some people are attracted to some features more than others. Some woman that I’d consider a 5 or 6 at best I had a friend who would consider them 7 or 8 or higher. He valued things differently than I did and that’s fine, he was happy and she was happy. And now that I’m older I’ve realized that there were women that I was interested in that had no interest in me and at the same time a woman who I’d say was significantly more attractive than the first who was interested in me. For whatever reason I clocked in lower for the first woman than the second.

But one thing we all had in common was basic effort in our own health and appearance + personal preference. Those 3 things alone can bump people up on others 1-10 scale. There are some people dealt really unfortunate hands with genetics, but for the average to look like the fable character society as a whole would have to try to look that bad.
