This response makes me sad.

Me too, and I beg anyone over the age of say 30 to pull out their high school yearbooks or the VHS player and their home movies.

I just pulled out my HS yearbook from the year I graduated, and even the most homely girls looked closer to the right than the left. And most of them were on the volleyball and/or softball teams and therefore would have made up for their homeliness in other ways.

And the home movie footage of the family waterslide park trip from the late 80s? I don't remember seeing a single fat person.
