They used those machines in my state when they originally introduced voting machines. Once we 'accepted' them, they swapped them all out for the ones that don't print paper receipts and told us they were basically the same thing, that we already excepted this, and to quit complaining.
the original machines printed your votes onto two receipts, one stayed in the machine, but went past a clear window so you could verify your votes, and the other was printed out to you to take home. The receipt that stayed with the machine had an anonymous random number that matched the printed take home receipt so you could type it into a website and verify your vote was counted.
The new website only informs you that the outer envelope was received, there is no way to verify the vote count any more.
