The “allowed to have preferences” thing kind of comes and goes though. A couple of years ago the common line among the crazies was that it’s bigoted to (for example) declare in advance that as a straight man you would never, under any circumstances, date a trans “woman.” (Edit: Recall also the absolute rage that greeted that BBC article about lesbians feeling like troons had taken over their spaces and were shaming them for not wanting to have sex with penises.) There were memes created and NPC script-arguments supporting the idea that “straight man” means attracted to women so that must include trans “women” too. Based on these answers, they’re actually coming down to earth a bit on this issue. They’re okay with not wanting to date a troon, they just want the OP to respect ze pronouns. Hey, I’ll take a little progress here and there! Even if there’s still a long ways to go just to get back to where we were circa 2014!
