Its funny how language immersion is well known as the fastest way to pick up a language but they somehow don't want to apply it to Spanish speakers.

EDIT: My wife used to be a math teacher in Texas before she quit because it's a shitty job. She was telling how she had a pair of students fresh off the boat from Vietnam who knew basically no English. So the school put them into the ESL program. Those kids ended up learning Spanish rather than English because of that stupid program and because they hung out with the other ESL students.
