To be fair, that isn't Jade. Jade was slated to serve as the antagonist, with this game meant to be a prequel to the original BGaE.
That's the only thing I'm going to defend about it, because everything about this game was absolute trash and indeed a sign of the decline of games. The gritty art direction. The profanity thrown in just to say "Look at how MATOOR we are!" The open world. The "games as service" features they had planned. Heck, even making the long-awaited continuation to a game that ended on a CLIFFHANGER with none of the old cast showing up in the initial teaser was BS in and of itself (especially since prequels, in my experience, indicate that the writers have no idea how to go forward with the actual story).
The whole "story" presented in the teaser trailer was garbage too. As is usual for lefty propaganda, they expect me to automatically root for the quirky rebels purely because they're quirky rebels, but by all accounts, they were the only ones acting villainous in the trailer. They instigated all the violence, starting when that filthy monkey character who looks like he eats, sleeps, and shits in a dumpster (whoever thought his design was a good idea needs to be shot) was the one who stiffed and robbed the pigman, who by all appearances was willing to honor his part of their deal, and then proceeded to shoot and murder the cops he sicced on them when they gave chase to retrieve the pig's stolen property. And in the process, blow up a ship, which proceeds to crash into a skyscraper, destroying that too and killing tons of civilians, which both Monkey and Afro cheer for. The teaser for the most recent Saints Row gave me similar vibes; the devs obviously intended for you to root for the Saints in that, but they were the ones who instigated everything against the yellow gang, who were just retaliating in kind.
