Except it wasn’t, it was a terms sheet. A real contract would have to be written up before anything could be signed and legally binding.

You can ask anyone who has been in large multi-million contract negotiations before and they will explain that negotiations begins with a terms sheet, usually at one extreme or another, and end up somewhere in the middle. I’m not saying this is right or wrong, only that it’s normal at this level of business.

If Crowder had said "Yes", they wouldn't have turned around and told him "No, no, no! You're our friend! We wouldn't make you sign something like this!" They'd have copied it all verbatim in contract form and been proud of it. And the deal was insultingly bad. From a youtube comment:

Brett Cooper signed a contract with DW while she was still an unknown, and when her content exploded and became very successful, they came to her and volunteered to renegotiate her contract, something that only worked in her favor and they had no obligation to do.

It makes no financial sense for DW to abuse their creators, and there’s zero evidence they’ve ever exploited or tricked their employees. Crowder on the other hand…

Beyond his underhandedness in this situation, Crowder has used contract law (NDA) to silence NotGayJared and allegedly got him fired from another job after he left Crowder. He did something to Sven Computer (allegedly refusing to pay him due wages) who remains silent most likely due to threat of NDA. He threatened to sue a fan Twitter account for Hopper the dog when they wouldn’t turn it over to him. People who have worked with him say he’s high strung, demanding, takes everything personally, holds grudges and is overall not a good person to work for. Owen Benjamin has been calling Crowder out for years for his mistreatment of employees.

I don’t care if you hate the Daily Wire or not, Crowder is clearly in the wrong here and is airing his dirty laundry to his own benefit. He’s not the hero people think he is.

EDIT: It totally skipped my mind, but Owen Benjamin actually said Crowder silenced him from talking about how all the trans kids hormones came from a single large company in Israel.
