On the one hand yes I agree with you.

On the other hand this is not something they would have even considered 3 years ago, shows the first signs of Red states finding their balls, and is pissing off all the right people; and from that standpoint I consider it a win.

Edit: to put this in perspective, this is the sort of thing where in 2015 Trump would have said in an interview "why aren't we sending these people to Martha's Vineyard instead of El Paso? Look at how people in Martha's Vineyard talk about illegal immigration: they love these people over there" and people on the right would have laughed and said "you know, he's right" while knowing that would never actually happen. Which would have been true if someone like Ted Cruz had been elected instead of Trump.
