I watched all 8 episodes and no it's not supposed to be funny. It's a split narrative between after the end of the world, and before the end of the world outbreak. I don't know why they did this it adds nothing of value to either story and makes both shitty stories more awkward. Add in the shittest soundtrack filled with whiny pretentious mostly girl rock. It's nothing like the games, the PWA films, or any of the animes. PS they put Lance Riddick in an outfit that is vaguely Weskerish but he looks like he is cosplaying Blade.
