I still maintain that there's something especially nefarious about Twitter, and the whole "microblog" model. It's probably a confluence of factors: the like/retweet model feeding into people's need for instant gratification, the bewildering pace of the conversation on those platforms making it difficult for people to actually think about things instead of just constantly react, and the mandated brevity which just eliminates any room for nuance.
All of these things together just create a platform that distills retardation into a purer and more virulent form. Gab may have a different political bent, but that doesn't make it any more productive when it comes to the exchange of ideas.
