Merit is essential for all good and stable communities, regardless of size. The moment merit is removed the community begins to degrade and will inevitably collapse. The reason why the entire West hasn't collapsed by now is there's still enough good people propping it up for it to limp along, but with all the other negative pressures this is just delaying the inevitable. Even with the globalist agenda to infiltrate our spaces, to push their warped propaganda to control us, they do so with people who hate merit. They know that if merit still existed they would be out of a job. They are a black hole of creativity and hard work. They're not good people, and fail at nearly everything they do. Even in their attempts to take over our popular franchises and stories to create propaganda, they fail horribly. It's why "the left can't meme". If they were more nuanced, and actually had merit, their propaganda would be far more effective. It's not, but even then it still serves their purpose: to destroy everything that's good, things that brings us together, that gives us heroes to aspire to, stories that teach us valuable lessons, to demoralize us. Either way, it serves their purpose. Their aversion to merit also builds upon itself, and over time worse people take over from the initial subverters, to the point that even their attempts at destruction can't sustain itself and their propaganda becomes ridiculously easy to spot.
