I've have lived in 8 different cities in my life, including big, medium and small. Smallest is a city of 3200. Largest is a city of 1.5m.
I always tell everyone the same thing. The city or town doesn't matter. What matters is the people in it. If you like the people you're with it really doesn't matter if you're eating steak at the fanciest steak restaurant in some major city before going out to some concert with some band you like or eating some shitty steak sandwich at the one small town bar named The Bar before listening to some life music by the one local band with the guy who always fucked up the lyrics to the same song he always plays. It's the same shit. It's the people that matter. Big cities have noticeably deteriorated in quality of people over the last 20 years. Covid just made it even worse. I moved from a 1.5m pop city to 3200 pop city and I bought a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with a finished basement and big backyard. My mortgage is $950. The people here seem better already than most city people. Only thing I lost was restaurants, oh well, I should be cooking anyway. Seemed like a great decision to me.
I'd honestly prefer living poorer and in a city if the people in cities were good but leftists have run all the good people out of cities and now they're stuck with what's left.
