Last May, a CNET investigation found at least seven lawsuits filed by women in California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey claiming they were fired by Amazon after disclosing their pregnancy.
This guy/girl saw an opportunity and took it. They aren't stupid.
From a legal perspective they are using a recent spate of lawsuits to 'jump on' since now precedent is set for just settling.
With all the negative press attached I'm amazed they didn't just quietly settle. Legally this is the perfect time to sue, regardless of whether they were smart to begin with.
