These intelligence agencies have been known to pull shit like this when there's some significant inter-departmental issue at play, or they're trying to catch enemy disinformation... which is undoubtedly happening at the moment with China. An agent at the National Reconnaissance Office secretly contacted Richard Feynman about the fact that NASA was conducting a cover-up for their own bureaucratic failures during the investigation of the Challenger Explosion. Military Intelligence sources may have been slowly leaking real secret information to the UFO community to track how secret military bases were being monitored, and if they were being infiltrated by real foreign spies, (to the point where they may have driven one 'UFO researcher' absolutely fucking mental by making him play the counter-intel game to hard).
If an intel agent were to leak material to a source which is explicitly not credible to the mainstream, like Alex Jones or Infinity Ward, they could leak real information without having to get through the amount of intelligence agency 'advisors' that are operating in the MSM.
