The existence of terrible people somewhere does not erase the existence of good people elsewhere.
One of the primary ways that the media lies right now is not even by printing false stories, but by bombarding you with endless stories/comments which promote a certain worldview in an attempt to convince you that the real world is just like what you keep seeing all over the Internet.
Because the ranks of the self-reported "nice and normal" girls include those systematic life-ruiners.
The problem is not that some have the inclination to, but that all of them have the power to.
Unlike the opposite shoe, where a woman can have some faith that the law and society will crash hard upon a man who abuses his position against her (physically or otherwise), men are reliant entirely on the honor system that women won't wake up one day and be that vindictive. And you can ask most divorced men how quickly "good person" goes evil once those papers are filed.
Also this type of story predates both the prevelance of the internet in our lives, and existed in spite of the media trying to be feministy and not promote such negative portrayals.
Its telling that he was able to properly expand and explain himself, and was listened to. The woman being responded to even continued the conversation with him and they parted on seemingly good terms.
Can you imagine that over anything in a default these days, let alone such a controversial point?
I'm not the one who wrote the original post, go back 11 years and correct his grammar. In fact, I'd imagine its just a phrase and there wasn't even a survey being reported on!!

No, and there's about a 50/50 chance that comment would get the person banned even on a sub like Half.
