I remember someone recently joked that the left would vote for Hitler if it got Trump out of office... Well...

I'm absolutely not surprised. Fascism was always progressive. Many intellectuals were huge fans of Fascism. The progressives know this, they just lie. It's actually a large underlying portion of their complaint about "meritocracy being fascist". They believe that Meritocracy leads to Technocracy, and they know that Fascism routinely advertised itself as Technocratic. ... and they think that the Fascists claim was true.
"White Fragility" is literally the 21st Century version of "The Passing Of The Great Race"
Honestly, reading that book has made me hate these Progressive Racialists more than anything. I'm not exaggerating when I say they'll volunteer for death camps. These freaks are all John Demjanjuk's waiting for their chance.
I watched a thing on eugenics on PBS a while back. Even black people were buying into it during its heyday.
That's because every intellectual in the country bought into it, and the progressive racialists had already become wildly popular.
I haven't gotten to that Sowell book yet. Is it an updated Economics and Politics of Race or are there new ideas in this one?
There are new ideas in all of his books, it's just that specific ones have sections from previous ones because some are compilations. I haven't read Economics and Politics of Race, I suspect that's a much earlier one.
I'd say that Intellectuals and Race goes over the nature of intellectuals, why they pursue racial polices (which effectively allows some groups of intellectuals to supersede other intellectuals), and the history of them doing so. There's plenty of stuff on the American transition of progressive racialism to progressive intellectual anti-racism, along with the European rivalries between German, Chek, and Jewish intellectuals that lead to the international support of Nazism among the intellectual elite.
