I'm seriously considering getting it at or near launch (of course I'm willing to wait at least a little bit to hear if it works, is good, etc.) but not if it's going to be obnoxious and woke. I know they were at least talking about "heterosexuality not being the default" or whatever, which definitely isn't a good sign.
What have you guys heard?
A little off topic, but are the base games from Paradox any good? I was gifted Stellaris on launch and it was pretty meh. The games seem like DLC platforms that require you to buy a lot of stuff to fill the games out.
Thats... pretty much it. At least in the case of Crusaders Kings 2 and Stellaris (Which is basically a whole new game after all the updates- bad or good depends on your tastes).
Paradox games are one of the best defense of using things like creamapi. Because unless you buy the game at launch and keep up with the DLC as its released, you are expected to just drop huge chunks of money before even knowing if you will want to buy the DLC.
They used to be amazing at start before DLC because what you see is what you get. But the games have gotten so expansive that it seems like now the base game starts out as a testing ground for what players like, hate, and want to see more of.
