If your character is so mannish they people legit believe it is a tranny, maybe the issue is with poor character design instead of the people. Double so because it is one of the examples of them altering the design from the model in ways that are incredibly questionable, in this case Abby's model still looks far more female then her.
Not even getting into how nearly impossible in the world they live in for a woman to achieve that kind of build.

Unless your eating a deer carcass every few days it would be hard maintaining that muscle mass even if youre male. Theres simply not enough in the input/output for gains

If nothing else, I really can respect the amount of work that Colleen Fotsch has clearly put into her physique. She's achieved some impressive results, and by the sound of it with the crossfit background, she's apparently quite the athlete.
TLOU2 still sounds miserable enough even ignoring any aesthetic/world building criticisms that I wouldn't touch it with somebody else's ten foot pole though.
I can respect the effort, but that is a woman more juiced than an orange. Still a lot of work was put in, but she would be nothing compared to what she is without drugs.
And as I pointed out to a guy back on old KIA2, its a game with a revenge plot that ends with "forgiving" your father's murderer because revenge is empty (except all those people you killed on the way, whatevs). That alone is massively shitty and undermines everything else, and has nothing to do with any politics.

That's bodybuilding in general, and a fair point. I do rather like the idea of natural only body building, but it's beyond a minority concern in the grand scheme of things.
And unlike a straight up body builder, she's apparently maintained a high level of functional sporting ability. I can respect that, even with the entirely fair caveats.
Given all the problems associated with juicing, I don't think its just a minority concern. Its a real problem, with real effects that should not be promoted no matter how it looks.
Its a real problem in the community, but so is Domestic Violence in the NFL, and equally serious (double so because of the rage issues associated with it).
Good on her for actually maintaining function instead of just form though, that is respectable.

Ah, sorry. My bad on the phrasing.
I meant that all-natural bodybuilding itself is a very small niche, that lacks even the exposure and support of bodybuilding more generally (which has itself falling significantly since the golden age).
I think there is varying levels of it, that can't be discounted. While completely natural is pretty niche, the level of extreme you would have to use to reach a body like hers is also on the far end.
There is a level in the middle where its acceptable risks for breaking through plateaus, but many go far beyond that into hardcore roids level and all the issues that come with that.
Yes, let's push muscularity as the new beauty standards for women, Polygon. Instead of dieting, women should now go to the gym 4 times a week and maybe even take steroids.
What happened to appreciating all body types, Polygon? Oh right, athletic, muscular women are probably the sexual fantasy of Polygon writers.
Even Ronda Rousey isnt THAT big, she still has a narrow frame at the shoulders and wider hips... Abby quite literally has a male frame and muscles (hence why people thought she was Trans)
I dont care if women have muscles, some of them still manage to look quite attractive, but Abby is unappealing and manly, also she killed my favourite character in the game.
The force feeding of gender and race is so obvious that even whitepilled friends are noticing it - if they wanted to do something positive for representation, we should be able to create/customize our character.
The game was not fun to play. The story was meh, pacing was horrendous, gameplay mechanics are too lax to sustain a 30 hour game. It's a 6/10 in my book.
But if Polygon wants to say the game is doing badly because of muscular women (on steroids), fine by me. They'd call me a white supremacist and Nazi anyways for having the wrong opinion (I'm Indian).
How about these dum dums do some market research to try and figure out how to maximize their profits? If all of the potential buyers for the type of shit they produce are Racist, Sexist, Homophobes™ how about you make something that they'll like and "sneak in" the progressive stuff tryhard auteurs seem to love? The current strategy is clearly not working out for them.
I love that they use that second tweet as a defense. So because Abby's model is based on a real woman, Colleen Fotsch, her body isn't unrealistic. So much for their incessant bitching about 'unrealistic body standards' since you could find a real woman for almost every other human woman in games (not to mention all the real women in ads that they also complain about for promoting 'unrealistic beauty standards').
The GTA V bikini woman looks like millions of real women and even the extremely busty sorceress from Dragon's Crown that gave people like Jason Schreier conniptions can be found in real women too.
All what I've been thinking when people try to defend the story is "So its just a shitty western" but I'm not surprised anyone who would think to defend this piece of shit never touched anything that real.

It was only ever about trying to guilt people into appreciating the unattractive ones.
Exactly. It was women's way to make leeching off us even easier, because we're now told fat is sexy. They don't even have to work for a good body now.
only for women, if youre a fat male without money then good luck getting a look in

Fit and somewhat muscular girls are hot.
TLOU2 is not that, it is a man with a ponytail. No-one can fap to this.
Yep.
You'd think it would be easy spot, Lara Croft and Tifa Lockhart, but noooo.

Wait.. i thought polygon was one of the few outlets that didn't like this game?
cowards seem to be walking it back a bit

Thats basically what they did in the 90s and things worked out OK.

Where's the article that expounds on this game being a shitty version of The Revenant?

Guess I must have just been imagining all those fighting games being released over the past 30+ years.
