ACT I OVERVIEW — THEME: “Survive First, Understand Later” Act I is built around three escalating imperatives:
Survive the crash planet
Recover the Artifact and understand why you were attacked
Escape the planet and reach Constellation
Each step deepens mystery, expands the world, and builds emotional investment — something Starfield’s original Act I never managed.
ACT I, CHAPTER 1 — “SHOT DOWN” 1.1 Dogfight (Playable Cinematic) You escort a sealed Mission Data Core containing the Artifact.
Three Hunter‑class interceptors ambush you.
You fight, lose, and crash on Kaldara‑9, an alien storm world.
1.2 The Crash Site (Survival Tutorial) You wake injured inside the wreck.
Systems are dead.
The Artifact pulses inside the cracked data core.
You experience the first vision — stars folding, impossible geometry.
1.3 First Contact (Environmental Threat) Strange fauna circle the wreck.
You must scavenge: medpacks, a sidearm, a distress beacon.
The Hunters’ ship scans overhead — they’re still searching for you.
ACT I, CHAPTER 2 — “THE BROKEN WORLD” 2.1 The Jungle of Kaldara‑9 You explore a handcrafted biome — bioluminescent forests, floating spores, magnetic storms.
Key discoveries:
Wreckage trails from your ship
Ancient alien ruins partially buried
Signs of a previous crash (someone else was shot down here long ago)
2.2 The Survivor’s Camp You find a small camp belonging to Mira Kestrel, a stranded ex‑pilot who’s been living here for months.
She becomes your first ally.
Mira’s role:
Teaches crafting, shelter, and hazard management
Knows the Hunters’ faction: The Vaulter Syndicate
Has seen the Artifact’s visions before — but never touched one
2.3 The Hunters Arrive A Vaulter dropship lands nearby. They’re sweeping the jungle. They want the Artifact. They know you survived.
This creates the first stealth/combat loop.
ACT I, CHAPTER 3 — “THE ARTIFACT’S CALL” 3.1 The Ruins Beneath the Storm You and Mira descend into alien ruins revealed by lightning storms.
Inside:
Strange murals
Starborn‑like symbols
A pedestal shaped exactly like the Artifact
When you place the Artifact on it, you experience a second vision — longer, clearer, terrifying.
3.2 The Revelation Mira helps decode the ruins:
The Artifact is part of a constellation of objects
The Hunters are trying to assemble them
The Starborn are trying to stop them
Constellation is caught in the middle
This is the moment the player understands the galaxy is bigger and stranger than they thought.
3.3 The Enemy Commander You encounter Commander Rhel, leader of the Hunters on Kaldara‑9.
He reveals:
You were targeted specifically
Your ship was carrying something “too dangerous to let reach Constellation”
The Artifact is not a relic — it’s a key
Boss fight or escape sequence.
ACT I, CHAPTER 4 — “ESCAPE VELOCITY” 4.1 Rebuilding the Ardennes You return to your wreck and begin repairs.
Tasks:
Salvage thrusters
Rebuild the comms array
Craft a makeshift reactor stabilizer
Fight off fauna and Hunter scouts
4.2 Mira’s Choice Mira refuses to leave the planet — she’s convinced the visions will kill her if she gets too close to the Artifact again.
She gives you:
A star map
A warning
A promise to stay alive
She becomes a future companion.
4.3 The Final Push The Hunters launch a full assault on your crash site.
You:
Power the ship
Hold the line
Blast off through the storm
Break atmosphere with seconds to spare
4.4 The Jump to Jemison Your ship barely holds together. You make a blind grav jump. The Ardennes sputters into orbit above New Atlantis.
Fade out.
ACT I, CHAPTER 5 — “CONSTELLATION” 5.1 Arrival at the Lodge You stagger into Constellation HQ with the Artifact in hand.
Instead of:
“Hi, you touched a rock, welcome aboard.”
You get:
“You were shot down transporting this? Who attacked you?”
“Why did they want it?”
“What did you see?”
Constellation becomes:
A refuge
A research hub
A political flashpoint
5.2 Barrett’s Reaction Barrett recognizes the Artifact immediately.
He tells you:
You weren’t hired randomly
You were chosen because you were trusted
The Hunters have never attacked openly before
Your crash changes everything
5.3 Act I Finale — “The Star Map” You place the Artifact on Constellation’s table.
It activates.
A holographic star map unfolds — showing the locations of the remaining Artifacts.
Barrett looks at you.
BARRETT
You didn’t just survive.
You brought us the first real lead we’ve had in years.
SARAH MORGAN
Then we start with the closest one.
YOU
Let’s finish what I started.
Fade to black.
Y'know you'd probably get your point across quicker if you just gave us the prompt and let us imagine it without all the padding.
have you ever actually used AI. I Start with my idea then flesh it out over many iterations then get a summary. I use the AI to flesh my ideas out not the other way around
